Dr. Michael D. Cook (PhD, LMFT) currently serves as the Chair of the Counseling Department and the Director of the Gideon Institute of Christian Psychology and Counseling at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´. Michael has had a career of 25 years in Christian Higher Education, serving previously at Huntington University and Taylor University. His undergraduate degree is in Sociology (BA) from Albany State University; his advanced degrees are an M.Div. in Pastoral Ministries and a PhD in Psychology and Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Michael is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and previously served in several mental health facilities and in several churches. He specializes in marital therapy, trauma therapy, Christian spiritual formation and Christian counseling.
